McPHERSON COLLEGE ANNOUNCES FALL 2023 HONOR ROLL, HONORABLE MENTION
McPherson College, a four-year private college located in central Kansas, recognizes its highest academic achievers in its fall 2023 Honor Roll and Honorable Mention.From Vinton, Rebecca Steffen was named to the Honor Roll. Students must be enrolled full-time and earn a grade point average of 3.55 or higher during the last term to qualify for the honor roll.
Iowa community colleges report increases in fall enrollment
New data released by the Iowa Department of Education shows overall growth in fall enrollment trends at Iowa’s 15 community colleges this year.Preliminary data analysis for 2023 indicates total fall enrollment at Iowa community colleges increased by 3,111 students from last year. This represents a 3.8 percent climb in the total number of students enrolled this fall at 85,362 compared to 82,251 in 2022 and is the second consecutive year with a continuous increase in community college enrollment.

My love of the Muppets began at an early age. I remember waiting with anticipation for Kermit to come running out in front of the red velvet curtain, enthusiastically shouting 'It's the Muppet Show with our very special guest...'! We had the 'Muppet Movie' soundtrack on 8-track cassette, as well as the collectible glassware from McDonald’s. Area Youth competed in Youth Swine Judging Contest
Six teams of Iowa youth won scholarships while participating in the Senior Division of the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) Youth Swine Judging Contest. The event, which invites students from across the state, took place at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines last week. There were 120 teams were represented in the Senior Division of the competition. Hawkeye Community College to Host Evening Information Session December 5

My first library memory is of Liz Stark reading aloud to my class in the library at West Elementary. Her voice was warm, and honey-coated, and I enjoyed listening to her very much. As a special treat, we could sit in the loft while we listened which was one of the most relaxing treats you could imagine! By the time I got to Lincoln Elementary, my librarian was my Aunt Pauline Elwick and everyone loved her. Hawkeye Community College Earns “Best for Vets” Rating from Military Times
